From Farenburg

Welcome to Farenburg!

Farenburg is a small city state in the middle of the ocean. In many ways, the location might seem less then desirable: the weather is awful, there are no natural food sources except for seafood and so on. On the other hand, the islands happen to be just in the right place. The distance to a number of foreign nations is fairly short, so the islands have become a haven for traders. Distances to many trade partners has halved.

The islands are a haven for dreamers. Only imagination is the limit on what the locals can do. Opportunities are everywhere and those with enough courage to grasp those opportunities will thrive - or lose everything.

To help people dream, the islands are full of wonders: magic, people from strange lands, cultures and races, technology, the greatest repository of knowledge in the world, access to strange gods and any materials, equipment, retainers and tools one might need.

In the center of it all, is the Faren Family, which has ruled the islands for five centuries. Their dynasty's history is a strange combination of complete decadence and great vision. Those qualities are still clearly visible in the different members of the family. They are also paranoid and tend to run their lands like a policestate.
